The hotel name Sophia [σοφία] means wisdom in Greek. The name is inspired by the fast-developing neighbourhood of the hotel where research and development activity are daily keywords. The Tartu University Hospital and University campus with its major educational buildings are just a short walking distance away.
The design of the hotel logo combines the word SOPHIA in Greek alphabet and the roundabout marking the hotel’s location, which is the main hub for nearest major cities.

Hotel Sophia was created with the wish to offer an excellent hotel experience with a reasonable price. Our aim is to offer our guests more than simply accommodation, be it a holiday, business or conference trip. Therefore, we have combined innovative ideas and thoughts inspired by a smart and active lifestyle.
The rooms at Hotel Sophia are spacious and modern. Natural and allergy-free materials have been used in the interior finishing. Check-in from 3 pm, check-out till 12 pm.
The hotel’s location is an effective hub between different Estonian cities and is easily accessible for guests arriving by car, offering with free-of-charge parking facilities.
The guests can go to the cinema, skating, visit an adventure park, a beauty salon or go shopping in Lõunakeskus – the largest shopping and leisure centre of South-Estonia. For the comfort of the guests, the hotel is connected with the shopping centre so all services can be accessed indoors.
